• Lalbagh Fort: When you are in Dhaka, the place to start with is the daunting yet unfinished Lalbagh Fort, overlooking the Burigonga River.

• Star Mosque(Tara Masjid): A visit to this dazzling mosque can hardly be ruled out. This is an excellent example of why the city is rightly known as the ‘Land of Mosques’. Its unique name arises due to the presence of a glittering piece of mosaic made of broken china. Another exquisite mosque shouldn’t be missed is the seven-domed Shaat Gombuj, located on the northwestern corner of the city.

• Ahsan Manzil: Towards the south of the city, you can view the freshly-renovated Ahsan manzil which is a fine example of architecture.

• Curzon Hall: This monument is an amazing remnant of the British Rule and is a fine mix of Western and Moghul architectural ideas.

• Be sure to visit the following monuments when in Dhaka: Shahid Minar, National Parliament and the National Museum.

• Rickshaws: Travel as the locals do and take a rickshaw ride around the city.
