One of the largest cities in Canada, Vancouver sits as a major entrance to the Pacific Ocean in the shadow of the Coast Mountain Range. This mix of ocean and mountain terrain makes Vancouver one of the most beautiful cities in Canada. With cruise ships lining up for trips to Alaska on one end and cobblestone streets welcoming visitors to the quaint sidewalk cafes that line the streets, the city is the epitome of diversity. It was also home to the 2010 Winter Olympics. Vancouver is cosmopolitan but has not lost its architectural history, which is well preserved in buildings, museums, and monuments scattered throughout the city. It is also becoming a mecca for film makers.
Vancouver’s Highlights:
Dr. Sun Yat Sen Chinese Garden: This fifteenth-century Chinese garden is a great way to escape from the real world and experience history at its finest. It features traditional Chinese plants, buildings, lakes, and footpaths.
Van Dusen Botanical Garden: This garden started out as an undesirable patch of land that later became a golf course. When the golf course dissipated, the citizens did not want to see any industrial development on the land and instead chose to grow this amazing botanical garden.
Gastown: One of the oldest neighborhoods in Vancouver, this city has been revitalized as a shopping area featuring modern, high fashion, and urban designs.
Christ Church Cathedral: One of the oldest churches in Vancouver, this Anglican Church is home to a current and active parish and features architecture that dates back one hundred years. It has been renovated numerous times but has maintained much of the original art and decor of the original building.
Stanley Park: The third largest park in all of North America as well as home to one of the largest aquariums on the continent, this is a must-see attraction on a pleasant day.Nearby attractions include the Vancouver Aquarium, the Children’s Farmyard and Miniature Railway, as well as Prospect Point.

The Burrard, though, is in a unique position to do something about tha ...
