The capital city of Prague is another superb example where past and present meets in a timeless embrace. A mix of cathedrals, cobblestone streets, medieval remains, church spires and walled courtyards blend in effortlessly with modern buildings and urban lifestyles. Stunning architecture from Gothic, Renaissance and baroque to art nouveau can be observed on practically every street. Outre customs like Velikonoce (Easter Monday) spankings and Night of Witches bonfires to burn witch figurines to rid the city of evil remain part of the cultural tapestry of Prague. There are excellent trails for hiking, great swimming at any of the designated public swimming areas called koupaliste . At night you can join a Pub Crawl that meets every night to hit some cool pubs, bars and night clubs. Prague is understandably regarded as one of Europe’s most beautiful and charming cities.
Prague’s Highlights:

The Old Town Square: Back in the 10th century this was the main marketplace in the old town of Prague, now it is bustling with tourists, restaurants, cafe’s, galleries and souvenir shops.
Franciscan Garden: Get away from the bustle of the city and come and relax in this picturesque garden.
You might be prepared for a new hotel venture from a famed nightclub group to rather emphasize nightlife at the expense of old-fashioned hospitality and in-room luxury and comfort. Prepare to be enlightened. The first of what’s intended to be a series of Luxury Buddha Bar hotels has opened in Prague, not far from the Charles Bridge and eve ...
Prague has been one of Europe’s most talked-about destinations for some time now, but until lately, high-design boutique hotels have been a bit thin on the ground. Bit by bit, though, the city’s classic old buildings are getting a contemporary makeover — a case in point is the Hotel Yasmin, off Wenceslas square.

Hotel Neruda is named for Czech writer and poet Jan Neruda, who was raised in this district, the Malá Strana, and who, by some accounts, lived in this building, a converted foureenth-century convent, just down the hill from Prague Castle. Neruda was an obsessive documentor of this neighborhood, the Little Quarter, with its shady character ...
Much is made of Prague’s medieval history, and to be honest, it’s inescapable. If you’re anywhere near the old town, a walk around the block is a trip to the Middle Ages. But there’s no reason why this historic city’s hotels need to be backward-looking — this place is firmly established as a travel destination ...
Seven linked buildings comprise this spectacular property in Prague’s picturesque Malá Strana. The hotel’s oldest building, the Augustinian St. Thomas’s Monastery, dates to the thirteenth century. Several monks still live nearby, sharing the landscaped paths with guests. But these days things have gotten a bit more comfo ...
The Prague we’re used to reading about in the travel press is one thing: youthful, edgy, affordable, bohemian (as well as literally Bohemian). Like any real-world city, though, it’s got other dimensions, one of which is inhabited by a hotel that’s pretty far from backpack/hostel territory: the Mandarin Oriental.

The Aria Hotel may have been, as it claims, Prague's first five-star luxury boutique hotel; it is certainly the most unique hotel in town. The location is excellent, on a quiet side street in the picturesque Malá Strana, and the hotel itself is charming, decorated by architect Rocco Magnoli, of Versace fame. But the real story here is ...
Prague is a city so steeped in history that even the brand-new high-design boutique hotels have stories that reach back centuries. This one is no different — it started its life as a monasterial brewery some time in the 14th century, lived through several reconstructions (in Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical styles), some expansions in ...
