Olivier Blouin’s stunning vision of the world around him is revealed in his photographs as well as in his architectural conceptions and graphics. A multi-disciplinary artist with a masters in architecture and a BA in environmental design, he delights in discovering hidden spaces and unexpected angles. His photography, which won the Prix Lux in 2009, is regularly exhibited in Montreal and can be found in public buildings such as the Pierre-Elliot Trudeau airport, or the spa Scandinave-Les-Bains in Old Montreal. Carrying on the tradition of his photojournalist father Normand Blouin, Olivier has scoured the African Continent, Europe, and North America, lending his lens to men and women who are making history or simply making do. He is currently working on illustrating the first book of the American sociologist Alice Goffman. “On the Run” depicts the reality of Black Americans caught up in poverty, violence, and incarceration in the heavily surveilled hyper-ghetto.

Olivier Blouin imprime sa vision du monde qui l’entoure sur ses photos, mais aussi dans ses conceptions architecturales et graphiques. Artiste multidisciplinaire détenant une maîtrise en architecture ainsi qu’un baccalauréat en design de l’environnement, il s’amuse à décloisonner les univers et à chercher les angles insoupçonnés, ce qui lui a entre autres valu un prix Lux en 2009.

Son travail fait régulièrement l’objet d’expositions et ses tirages ornent divers lieux publics montréalais dont l’aéroport Pierre-Elliot Trudeau ou encore le spa Scandinave-les-bains dans le Vieux-Montréal. Sur le continent africain, en Europe et en Amérique du Nord, Olivier, sur les traces de son père le photoreporter Normand Blouin, pose aussi sa lentille sur des hommes et des femmes qui font l’histoire… et le quotidien. Il travaille actuellement à illustrer le premier ouvrage de la sociologue américaine Alice Goffman. On the run: Wanted men in the Philadelphia Ghetto dépeint la réalité états-unienne des minorités entraînées dans la spirale de la pauvreté, de la violence,  de l’intervention policière et de l’incarcération.
