Overlooking Charlotte Amalie and its harbor, and just a five-minute drive to town, Bellagio Estate was once the gracious home of a U.S. Ambassador in the early island years.

The Upper Villa, built in 1960, has simple historic charm. Bellagio Estate now offers two separate villas plus a two-bedroom cottage, all surrounded by an expansive 1.6 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, including lofty mature trees such as mango, papaya, breadfruit, bamboo, and towering palms. In the center of the property is the generous swimming pool, a nearby bathroom and shower, gas grill and a wet bar. A private tennis court is just down from the pool deck.

The Upper Villa:

The Upper Villa, boasts a large covered outdoor living area in crisp white island decor. A powder room and a full kitchen are conveniently just off this living area. Bedroom 1, a double with its own bath, is tucked away on a small shady patio just outside the kitchen. On the other side of this patio and down a corridor are three more bedrooms (two king bedrooms, 2 and 4, and one with two twins, 3) and two baths. Each bedroom is air-conditioned and all suites are tastefully decorated with faux-finish flair. Down the stairs at the garden level, (near the pool deck), is bedroom 5, a private, air-conditioned king bedroom suite. All of Bellagio's bedroom suites have cable TVs, and some also have private sitting areas to give everyone the space and privacy they desire.

Lower Villa:

Down the stairs from the Upper Villa on the pool deck below is Bellagio's lower villa  (the Main House) which offers a living/dining room (and another full kitchen) from which guests can enjoy town and harbor views. A covered deck which overlooks the pool is just off this living room, perfect for catching some shade on a hot Caribbean day. Two king bedroom/bath suites (6 and 7) are adjacent to the living area, and are fully air-conditioned and equipped with cable TV. Both suites are designed with old-world elegance and furnished in classic mahogany furniture; each bath features an antique all-marble bathroom with gold-tipped fixtures, original from when this house was built. A cool and private patio off these bedrooms provides a quiet spot to read and relax. And below, via a spiral staircase, the lower level of the Main House offers a game/media room complete with air hockey, a billiard table and all electronics, movies, books and games. This large room also doubles as an office, equipped with a DSL line for your laptop, and a fax machine/printer/copier. Adjacent to the game/media room is a full bath and an air-conditioned queen bedroom (8) with cable TV.

Cottage:

Outside, it is just a few steps to the small cottage (tucked behind the Upper Villa) with its two air-conditioned bedrooms (9 and 10, which share a bath) and its own private porch to enjoy the evening breeze. Your privacy is ensured by a gated entryway into the community.

Bellagio Estate is a stately, historic property, with lots of character and many island stories. In the old island days it was enjoyed by the Kennedys, Jimmy Carter, Harrison Ford and the Governor of the Virgin Islands, among others. Bellagio Estate is comfortable rather than luxurious. With its grand island history, its spacious grounds and lots of room for larger groups, bountiful amenities and many quaint and quiet nooks to enjoy, it is the perfect island getaway for families and groups, big or small.

Villa Policy

• ALL guests at Bellagio will have the complete use of BOTH the Main House and Upper Villa (plus the Cottage, if your group totals 17 persons or more) - the two houses include two full kitchens, and lots of room for everyone's comfort and privacy.
• *Please add $50 per person, per night, for each of 4 single rollaway (portable) beds available to Bellagio's guests with advance notice - beds are small, but very suitable for children.
• Should guests lose the electronic gate remote opener into Bellagio's neighborhood, the cost to replace it will be $100.
• BELLAGIO ESTATE IS ALSO AVAILABLE FOR WEDDINGS, PARTIES or LARGE GATHERINGS! (absolute maximum 50 guests). ADD a $1000 surcharge to the seasonal rental rate for 1-20 persons (see Rates), High or Low season. A $3000 fully-refundable damage deposit is also required. *All tables, flatware, china, dishes and glassware for the wedding must be rented or provided by your caterer, and one person must be hired for the entire duration of the function to man the electronic gate for smooth and controlled traffic in and out of Bellagio's gated neighborhood. Safari buses or taxis must be hired to shuttle all guests from and back to another parking area, as a maximum of 10 cars only can be parked at Bellagio Estate. McLaughlin Anderson Luxury Villas requires that you give us, well in advance, complete details of all wedding or function plans, including all names of wedding personnel and/or catering persons who will be at Bellagio Estate for your party or wedding...this information must be provided to us as part of your rental Terms & Conditions. Guests will be held completely responsible for any damages, missing items, and will be charged if their caterer/chef does not complete a full clean-up of the villa property inside and outside, including removing all trash from the villa property. Please ask to see complete details and our agreement for these functions. All music and noise must be over by 10 pm sharp, as Bellagio Estate is located in a quiet and sedate neighborhood. A notarized liability waiver is also required to cover all guests invited to or hired by guests for any function or wedding held at Bellagio Estate.
