Clipper City – Panoramic Sailing Views of New York City

There are many places in New York City where you can spend time taking in its extraordinary skyline, but there’s nothing quite like doing so while sailing under the sunset. The next time you want to experience what the city has to offer, join Manhattan by Sail aboard New York City’s largest sailing vessel – Clipper City. The 158’ sailing vessel holds up to 150 passengers, has a spacious deck with a full bar, and most importantly, offers a special opportunity to experience the best views of Manhattan. Clipper City takes you away from the noise and crowds for stunning views of the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Ellis Island, lower Manhattan and more.

The original Clipper City was built as a cargo schooner prior to the Civil War, rebuilt from the original plans and then refurbished. Today, the sailing vessel offers daily departures, private events, wedding ceremonies and affordable specialty sails that cater to just about anyone, including Twilight, Harbor Lights, Clipper City Kids, Craft Beer Tasting, Lobster & Beer Lovers, Jazz, Out@Sea, and a Burlesque Sail. Clipper City departs daily, rain or shine, from Battery Park near the Staten Island Ferry Whitehall Terminal. If you choose to sail with a group, Clipper City can arrange catering, so that food is waiting for you onboard.

Below is a look at the views during Clipper City’s Twilight Sail, where you can watch the sun set behind the Statue of Liberty. The Twilight Sail departs at 7 p.m. daily, and at 6:30 p.m. from September through October.
