Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park is located in northern Botswana and has one of the largest concentrations of game in Africa.

There are also 50,000 elephants, possibly the highest concentration in Africa. Chobe National Park is accessible by car. The lodges and camps offer a three-hour safari tour.

Tsodilo Hills

Tsodilo is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is made up of four hills. The highest is 1400 meters and the highest point in Botswana. The Tsodilo Hills are located in the northwest part of the country close to the Namibian Border.

The hills are a spiritual place for the San peoples of the Kalahari. They believe it’s a resting place for the spirits of the deceased. There are more than 4500 rock paintings on the hills, some dating back to over 20,000 years.

Okavango Delta

The Okavango Delta is the result of the Okavango River flowing into the Kalahari Desert. It is the world’s largest inland delta and has a diverse attraction of animals and birds.

You can explore this safari and view much of the wildlife from a traditional canoe called a “mokoro”. Visit during the dry season from May to October.

Mokolodi Nature Reserve

The Mokolodi Nature Reserve is located 10 kilometers from Gaborone, the capital of Botswana. The reserve is a private, not-for-profit game reserve dedicated to environmental and conservation education. It is one of the few reserves that the children of Botswana can afford to go to because of the charitable contributions that it receives from tourists.

Khama Rhino Sanctuary

The Khama Rhino Sanctuary was established in 1992 to assist in saving the disappearing rhinoceros. The Sanctuary also brings in school kids form neighboring communities to expose them to conservation.

In addition to white and black rhinos, visitors can expect to see over 30 other animal species and more than 230 species of birds.
