Long Beach, Phi Phi Islands – White Sand Paradise

The Phi Phi Islands are a part of Thailand. This cluster of beautiful islands is located between the island of Phuket and the western Strait of Malacca coast of the mainland. Not only do these islands offer spectacular scenery, but they are easily accessible. This entire region forms part of a marine National Park.

One of the best places to visit in the Phi Phi islands is undoubtedly Long Beach on Phi Phi Don Island. Located on the southernmost coast of Koh Phi Phi Don, this magnificent destination is famous for its soft fine white sands and crystal clear warm waters. This is paradise.

Long Beach (or Hat Yao in Thai) is famous for its snorkeling. The clear turquoise water allows you to view colorful marine life swarming around coral reefs in calm shallow waters.

Although not really present during the day, harmless black reef sharks can be spotted swimming around the reef, particularly at a rock known as Shark Point. There is also a PADI dive centre, rather predictably named Blacktip Scuba, on Long Beach.

Kayaking and volleyball are also favorite leisure activities. For something a bit more relaxing, you can enjoy a Thai massage in salas (rooms with open sides) located all along Long Beach. At the end of your day, sit at one of the beach bars and enjoy an exquisite sunset.

Long Beach offers the appealing combination of secluded accommodation and near proximity to the village of Ton Sai. There are very few day-trippers so guests generally have the beach and open air beach bars to themselves. There are about six resorts in Long Beach, some of which offer up-market dining.
