Luxury Rail Travel Might be Coming to New Zealand

Businessmen John Johnston and Dave Nixon, directors of the South Pacific Express in New Zealand, are in talks to buy a new luxury Orient-Express-style train, a train that would carry affluent passengers who want to discover the scenery of New Zealand in luxury.

The new luxury sleeper train should be up and running as of early 2013 if the deal comes through. A trip on the luxury train comes at a steep price of $1000 to $1500 a day. Guests should expect all service provided in a five-star hotel and a selection of interesting activities such as salmon fishing, golf and wine tours along the way.
