Montevideo Café – Drinking mate is a timeless Uruguayan tradition. You’ll find locals of Montevideo drinking this bitter tea through their metal straws practically at any time during the day. Fútbol – Fútbol is a huge part of Montevideo culture. Even if you can’t catch a game, visit the Estadio Centenario. This was the venue of the first World Cup Final in 1930. The on-site museum keeps a well-documented history of futbol in Uruguay.
