Scandic Hamburg Emporio – Sustainable & Eco-Driven Luxury

Eco-friendly hotelier Scandic has done it again with the opening of its flagship hotel in Hamburg, the Scandic Hamburg Emporio. The hotel was immediately praised for its sustainable building and was eco-certified even before opening.

The 325-room hotel uses renewable electricity and will cut its carbon emissions by up to 1,000 tonnes per year. It was ranked in the list of ’50 Certified Green Hotels’ by the German Business Travel Association.

The Scandic Hamburg Emporio is located within walking distance to the Hamburg Messe und Congress, an exhibition and conference center. The hotel is also across the street from the Gänsemarkt underground station, which adds to its eco-friendliness.

The hotel has a water theme, which was conceptualized by designer Jesper Waldersten. It is seen in the hotels aesthetics and continues into the aptly named Scandanavian restaurant ‘H20’.
