Shangri-La at The Shard – Stunning London Views

As the first elevated luxury hotel of the city, the new Shangri-La, at The Shard, London, will occupy levels 34 to 52 of The Shard, the tallest building in Western Europe at 310 metres (1,016 feet). Set to open in summer 2013, the new five-star resort will feature 202 deluxe guest rooms and suite offering unparalleled city views, four signature fine dining options, three river facing event rooms, an infinity pool and a 24-hour gym.

“Shangri-La Hotel, at The Shard, London will be a dramatic introduction of our signature Asian hospitality and style to the United Kingdom,” said Greg Dogan, president and chief executive officer of Shangri-La International Hotel Management Ltd. “International guests already familiar with Shangri-La touches will also enjoy panoramic views of London from all vantage points. But most striking will be the authentic and gracious Asian style of service, the hallmark of our 78 hotels and resorts, which will position this new property at the forefront of the world’s finest hotels.”

Averaging more than 42 square metres, (452 square feet), the rooms of the new luxury hotel will be amongst the largest in London. Guests will be able to enjoy complimentary wi-fi Internet access, designer amenities and the celebrated “Shangri-La Bed” featuring body-contouring technology.

For entertainment, guests will be invited to dine at new The Shard 35, a fine dining restaurant offering locally inspired dishes, to socialise over tea at the adjacent Lounge or to have a drink at GONG, the Asian-inspired destination bar on level 52.
