The forests of Siem Reap are hushed and full of secrets and the deep set enigma seems to be the perfect surrounding for the temples of old. This impressive temple was built in honor to be the spiritual home of Vishnu, and every stone is placed lovingly to exalt the Hindu God. Amidst the cracks of stone, the lofty columns and the foreboding gates of Angkor Thom it isn’t unusual to see the flash of an orange robe from one of the many Buddhist monks who pilgrim to this sacred spot.

You are sure to feel as though you have stepped into a three dimensional version of Tomb Raider, there is an almost apocalyptic feel to the deserted streets and the fallen city. A splash of lilies, the murmur of gongs and the endless maze of shaded courtyards and underground tunnels will tempt you even further in to the Lost City, a place where it is easy to lose just a little part of yourself. Visiting in the small hours of the morning, those conscious seconds right before the dawn is the best way to avoid the endless throngs of tourists and the haze of the fierce midday heat.
